Inspired by true stories and directed by Magnus von Horn, THE GIRL WITH THE NEEDLE follows young factory worker Karolina (Vika Carmen Sone) as she struggles to survive in post-World War II Copenhagen. When she’s unemployed, abandoned and pregnant, she meets Dagmar (Trine Dyrholm), a charismatic woman who runs an underground adoption agency that helps mothers find foster homes for their unwanted children. With nowhere else to turn, Carolina takes on the role of wet nurse. The two women form a strong bond, but Caroline’s world comes crashing down when she learns the shocking truth behind her work.
