The first feature film for director Jeremy Perrin
Plot
Set in the 23rd century on Mars, it follows the investigation of a murder case by the duo of private detective Alina Ruby and her android sidekick Carlos Rivera. He has already directed episodes of the TV show Lastman (2016). In 2018, producer Didier Creste approached him and Laurent Sarfati, creator and screenwriter of Lastman, to work on a film adaptation of their series.

Instead, they convinced him to create an original idea, a neo-noir sci-fi animated film, for which he managed to find financing, which eventually became Mars Express. LEM: Dear friends, please fuck off.. A Million Miles Away Written by Fred Avril and Philip Montei Starring Alice Lewis.
The story is smart, suspenseful and well paced
It’s really great when writers/directors have the guts to tell a true sci-fi story for adults, and that’s what’s happening here. The art design, settings and sounds are fantastic, believable and quite original. It is a visually appealing cartoon in the style of a French graphic novel for adults.
For all the great things
I’m glad there are still people who do this kind of thing. Mars Express reminds me a bit of a renaissance black-and-white cyberpunk thriller from the 2000s, and this movie is just as good in its own way. Great concepts, plot, screenplay and acting.
Really enjoyable sci-fi
