Plot
Four turbulent decades during the Northern Ireland Rebellion
The real-life Dolours Price was married for two decades (1983-2003) to Irish actor Stephen Rea. During this period, Rea appeared in the film for which he is perhaps best known in the United States: the 1992 romantic thriller The Crying Game.
The casting is absolutely spot-on
In this film, Rea plays Fergus, a highly reluctant and controversial member of the Irish Republican Army (IRA), the same organization with which Price was associated for many years. The main players, Gerry Adam’s, Brendan Hughes and Dolours Price, are played to absolute perfection.
It’s gritty, it’s gripping, and they have 1970s Belfast
You would swear you were actually there, reliving the history. You honestly think you’re watching a documentary, it’s so well-shot.
There are only a few episodes in but so far it is edge of your seat
So far they have done a good job of showing two sides of the story and they did not shy away from showing how the Troubles started. Protestant/Loyalist residents are beating and burning Catholics out of their homes with the help of the police.
