As someone who wasn’t familiar with the story, the details of what happened really interested me
Plot
During the 1972 Munich Olympics, an American television crew gets caught up in the Israeli athletes’ hostage crisis. All the performances are believable, the comedy is in all the right places, and the pacing and length don’t make you look for the exits before the credits roll.
They did a solid job of not telegraphing plot points
Some might be bored by the lack of a change of scenery, but I think it worked here. I think they wanted you to feel like the control room was your world and how you felt that day.
Thought-provoking without being preachy
They did a great job with the political and emotional elements. The mix of footage from the event itself, including some of the footage shown, definitely draws you deeper into the experience.
A nice touch
While it’s not a movie I plan on watching over and over, it is a very well-made movie that I would recommend to friends who like this type of movie.
